Haunted History Downtown Bismarck

What’s better than walking around downtown talking about outlaws, prostitutes, fires, drinking, and debauchery? Taking it all underground, of course! Traverse Bismarck’s historic tunnels and learn more about the city on a whole new level.

Historic Downtown Bismarck Walking Tour

Stroll historic streets of Bismarck and hear tales of hearty souls who, at least for a while, called this place home. Walk the terrain of the Mandans and Lakotas, traders, raiders, railroad riders, soldiers and soiled doves. Tread the streets of Murderer's Gulch in a town once known as the Wickedest Town in the West.

St. Mary's Cemetery Tour

Learn more about some of the 7,551 souls inhabiting this historic cemetery. Learn stories about Bismarck notables like Alexander McKenzie, Bismarck's first city developer, Linda Slaughter, and Grant Marsh.

Germans-from-Russia History Tour

North Dakota was the destination of approximately 70,000 German-speaking settlers from the Volga river region and from German villages in what is now the Ukraine. Travel from Bismarck to the Lawrence Welk State Homestead with plenty of stops at stunning churches and iron-cross cemeteries along the way. Include transportation, lunch, and snack (hint: it's kuchen!)
